Actively preparing for the Third Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism"

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh - Head of the Organizing Committee of the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" said that the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" - 2025 takes place in a special context when we are actively working towards the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

Besides, this is also the first year the Award is held after the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism took over the functions and tasks of state management of press and publishing from the Ministry of Information and Communications . Therefore, this year's Award will certainly have many changes in the content and rules of the Award.

The Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism co-chaired the meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism ".

Mr. Phan Thanh Nam, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper - Member of the Organizing Committee of the Award, said that the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of collectives, individuals, and teams of journalists to the cause of developing culture, sports and tourism.

Through the Award, the results and achievements of culture, information, sports and tourism are introduced and promoted. At the same time, it is necessary to discover advanced models in the culture, information, sports and tourism sector; encourage and motivate all cadres in the sector to join hands and continue to contribute more to the development of the sector.

In addition, it creates conditions for journalists to exchange professional and technical experiences, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of information and press activities in the fields of culture, information, family, sports and tourism.

At the meeting, delegates spoke and contributed ideas related to the name, content and time of the tournament.

Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Nguyen Duc Loi and Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission Phan Xuan Thuy spoke at the meeting.

In his concluding remarks, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh thanked the comments at the meeting. According to the Deputy Minister, these are not only enthusiastic opinions for the press award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism", for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, but also concerns for the development of Vietnamese culture and people.

Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh highly appreciated the preparation of the Culture Newspaper - the Standing Agency of the Award in developing the Plan and Regulations for organizing the Third Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism".

Regarding the comments at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Hai Binh said that the opinions have basically agreed on issues related to the content and time of the organization of the Award. Regarding the name of the Award, there are still many different opinions. The Deputy Minister assigned the Culture Newspaper - the Standing Agency of the Award to synthesize the opinions to report and ask for the opinion of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Noting that there is not much time left to prepare, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh requested units to actively complete tasks to successfully organize the Third Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism".

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Anh Vu, Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper, announced Decision No. 1187/QD-BVHTTDL dated April 26, 2025 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to establish the Organizing Committee of the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism".

According to the Decision, Mr. Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is the Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award; Mr. Phan Xuan Thuy, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission and Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, are co-Heads of the Committee.

The Organizing Committee of the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" also has 14 other members who are leaders and representatives of the Press Department; Department of Performing Arts; Culture and Arts Magazine; Culture Newspaper; Department of Planning and Finance; Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition; Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Hanoi Opera House; Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio Company Limited; Department of Press - Publishing, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Electronic Information Portal - Vietnam Journalists Association and representatives of the Professional Department of Vietnam Journalists Association.

The Organizing Committee is responsible for developing regulations, rules, establishing a Secretariat, a Jury, and implementing other contents related to the organization of the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism". The specific tasks of the members are assigned by the Head of the Organizing Committee.
