Pepper prices today in some key growing areas have dropped sharply compared to yesterday. As a result, the domestic pepper price level is from 146,000 VND/kg to 147,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, pepper price today in Dak Lak decreased sharply by 5,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 146,500 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Gia Lai decreased by 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Dak Nong decreased by 5,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 146,500 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper price today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau is currently at 146,000 VND/kg, down 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dong Nai decreased 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday at 146,000 VND/kg.

In addition, pepper price today in Binh Phuoc decreased by 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the pepper prices of all types traded in the international market on May 21 (local time) as follows:

Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price increased slightly compared to yesterday at 7,432 USD/ton (up 0.15%). In addition, Muntok white pepper price also increased slightly compared to yesterday at 10,134 USD/ton (up 0.15%).

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,650/mt.

Malaysia's ASTA black pepper price decreased slightly compared to yesterday, currently at 9,150 USD/ton (down 0.54%). In addition, the country's ASTA white pepper price decreased slightly compared to yesterday, reaching 11,850 USD/ton (down 0.42%).

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of 500 gr/l black pepper in Vietnam reached 6,700 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,800 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,700/ton.

According to a report from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in the first 4 months of 2025, the UK was the fastest growing market among the top 10 largest pepper importers of Vietnam.

Statistics from the Customs Department show that Vietnam exported 2,330 tons of pepper to the UK, earning 17.05 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume increased by 22.7% and the value nearly doubled, reaching a growth rate of 97.9%.

The average export price to the UK market reached 7,308 USD/ton, 61.23% higher than the same period last year and also far exceeding the average price of Vietnamese pepper.

In the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam mainly exported ground black pepper to the UK, accounting for more than half of the total volume and value. Whole black pepper accounted for nearly 25%, while ground white pepper accounted for about 17% in volume and more than 20% in value.

Most pepper exports to the UK increased in volume, except for ground white pepper, which decreased slightly by 0.3%. Notably, black pepper exports soared by 206.1%, while white pepper, despite its small proportion, recorded a sharp increase of 3,033% in the first quarter.

According to the International Trade Center (ITC), the total volume of pepper imported by the UK in the first quarter of 2025 reached 2,700 tons, worth 20.25 million USD, up 12.2% and 48.9% respectively over the same period last year.

Vietnam is the largest supplier, accounting for 56% of the total volume and nearly 60% of the total value of pepper imports into the UK. In the first 3 months of the year, the UK imported 1,513 tons of pepper from Vietnam, equivalent to 12.1 million USD, up 10.2% in volume and 67% in value.

Notably, the import price of pepper from Vietnam to the UK market reached 7,973 USD/ton, an increase of 54.5% - the highest increase among the main supplying countries to the UK.
