Bac Ninh: Flood warning peaks at noon on October 9

On the morning of October 9, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province continued to warn that flooding could peak at noon today.

The list of 38 communes and wards at risk of flooding due to the impact of major floods has also been updated so that people can clearly understand and proactively respond with functional forces.

According to the news of Bac Ninh Province Hydrometeorological Station released at 5:00 a.m. on October 9, the water level of Thuong River at Cau Son Station, Phu Lang Thuong is fluctuating at the peak level above alert level 3. The water level of Cau River at Phuc Loc Phuong Station, Dap Cau is rising slowly above alert level 3.

Bac Ninh Province Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that the water level of the Thuong River at Cau Son station, Phu Lang Thuong will continue to remain at the peak level above alert level 3 and then slowly decrease.

Cau River water level at Dap Cau station (7.35-7.45m) is above alert level 3, and is likely to peak at noon to this afternoon. At Phuc Loc Phuong station (9.60-9.80m) is above alert level 3, and is likely to peak at noon to this afternoon.

Authorities warn that in the context of high river water levels, it could cause widespread flooding in low-lying areas along rivers in communes and wards in the Thuong and Cau river basins.

Due to the impact of the flood, widespread flooding will occur in the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, and Lang Son in the next 2-3 days and there is a risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas in the Northern region; there is a risk of landslides on river banks and river dykes, flash floods on rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes in the mountainous areas of the Northern region.

The situation of responding to the flood is still urgent in Bac Ninh. Many localities in Hanoi and other provinces and cities have also urgently sent relief teams to support the locality.

Currently, dozens of relief boats and canoes of the Huong Pagoda Tourism Transport Cooperative (Hanoi) are present in Bac Ninh. Relief teams of organizations, individuals and local people are making efforts to cope with this historic flood.
