According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the increasing number of autistic children and high treatment costs have put many families in difficult circumstances.
Technicians at the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital treat children with developmental delays. |
Therefore, he requested the Department of Education and Training to urgently coordinate the establishment of specialized centers based on reviewing the following headquarters, arranging and building two support points: One in Bac Giang ward and one in Kinh Bac ward. At the same time, research and issue appropriate mechanisms and policies to support both children and teachers, contributing to reducing difficulties for families with autistic children.
This is a deeply humane act, demonstrating the concern of the provincial leaders for the group of special children. Ms. TTT, My Thai commune shared that her family has a child who is nearly 3 years old but cannot speak, has slow development and has been diagnosed with autism by a doctor. Every month, the child studies at a private facility in the province for only 2 hours a day and has to pay 7 million VND/month. While the couple works as workers, their limited income makes the family's economy difficult. This is just one of many families with autistic children today.
Therefore, along with Ms. T, many people in the province hope that the support policy for autistic children will soon be implemented in practice, sharing the burden for less fortunate families.
