Doctors at Hoan Hao Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City were fined for illegally examining patients.

On November 12, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health Inspectorate announced its decision to impose administrative penalties on 10 organizations and individuals for violating regulations on medical examination and treatment.

Hoan Hao General Hospital Company Limited was fined 8 million VND. Previously, at the first branch of this company (No. 1B Hoang Huu Nam Street, My Thanh Quarter, Long Thanh My Ward, Thu Duc City), the authorities discovered that a doctor from Hoan Hao Hospital was examining and treating patients without a practice registration.

The Health Department Inspectorate also fined Saigon Medical Services Company Limited (No. 153 - 155 Nguyen Van Cu Street, Ward 2, District 5) VND109 million, revoked the right to use the medical examination and treatment license for 4 months and revoked the right to use the practice certificate of the person in charge of professional responsibility for 2 months.

Many medical staff of the two clinics were also fined and had their practice certificates temporarily revoked.

Another unit that was fined was the Thang Tam General Clinic (No. 74 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Vo Thi Sau Ward, District 3). In addition to having to pay a fine of 106 million VND, this clinic also had its medical examination and treatment license revoked for 4 months.

The Health Department Inspectorate also fined Vina General Clinic Joint Venture Company (at R4-30, Street No. 6, Hung Phuoc 3 Quarter, Tan Phong Ward, District 7) 16.8 million VND, confiscated the exhibits and forced them to pay back the illegal amount of 1.8 million VND.

In addition, Gia Thanh Pharma - Hong Ngoc Dental Company Limited (at 270 Bac Hai Street, Ward 6, Tan Binh District) was fined 4 million VND, Kangnam Korean Company Limited (at 394-396 Cao Thang Street, Ward 12, District 10) was fined 4 million VND and Assure Dental Company Limited (at 2A Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, Ward 2, District 3) was fined 8 million VND.
