Shop in Da Nang re-offends in selling counterfeit goods, fined more than 111 million VND

Authorities discovered a shop in Da Nang displaying and selling counterfeit goods of major brands Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Christian Dior, and Celine. Notably, this establishment had previously been fined for similar behavior.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a decision to administratively sanction the business household Black Label Shop (Tran Phu Street, Hai Chau District, Da Nang).

Accordingly, on the afternoon of May 20, the authorities inspected the business activities of the Black Label store belonging to the Black Label Shop business household.

At the time of inspection, it was discovered that this business had 19 handbags of various types bearing the Chanel logo, 21 handbags of various types bearing the Louis Vuitton logo, 7 handbags of various types bearing the Prada logo, 1 handbag of various types bearing the Gucci logo, 13 handbags of various types bearing the Christian Dior logo, 9 handbags of various types bearing the Celine logo... with signs of being counterfeit goods of the Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Christian Dior, Celine... brands that are protected in Vietnam.

There were a total of 127 product units with a total value of goods determined at the time of inspection of 151.8 million VND.

The Da Nang Market Management Department concluded that the business household Black Label Shop committed an administrative violation by displaying and selling counterfeit trademark goods with the quantity and total value of the infringing goods mentioned above.

The owner of this business stated that he had not sold any counterfeit goods before the inspection on May 20.

Through reviewing the records of administrative violations, the market management discovered that on September 27, 2024, Market Management Team No. 1 (Da Nang Market Management Department) had administratively sanctioned the business household Black Label Shop for displaying and selling counterfeit trademark goods. Therefore, this household was a repeat offender.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has decided to fine the above business household more than 111 million VND. The company is required to destroy 127 units of counterfeit goods.
