Closing on November 3, VN-Index closed at 1,617 points, down 22 points (-1.38%)

VN-Index opened the session on November 3 up nearly 5 points compared to the reference, but selling pressure quickly took over, pushing the index back to the 1,625 point zone. Banking, consumer groups and some blue-chips such as HPG and VJC suffered the strongest sell-off.

On the contrary, cash flow to defensive sectors such as oil and gas and maritime transport increased impressively with GMD (+2.20%), HAH (+4.07%), PVD (+4.39%). In the last 30 minutes of the morning session, bottom-fishing demand at HPG and Vingroup group (VIC, VHM) helped the VN-Index recover slightly, closing the morning session at 1,651 points (+12.11 points).

In the afternoon session, selling pressure from the banking and securities groups increased dramatically, pushing the VN-Index down by up to 15 points at times. In the last 15 minutes of trading, the market witnessed a "storm" of selling in banking stocks (MBB, HDB), real estate (VRE, VIC) and securities (SSI, VND). Red covered the HOSE board with 240 stocks falling compared to only 85 stocks rising.

At the end of November 3, VN-Index closed at 1,617 points, down 22 points (-1.38%) - the sharpest decrease in over a month.

VCBS Securities Company said that VN-Index lost the 1,620 mark after only 1 adjustment session. Investors need to closely follow the market and restructure their portfolios when they reach the stop-loss threshold. "Instead of rushing to catch the bottom, investors can screen stocks that maintain the support price zone, to disburse when the market stops falling" - VCBS Securities Company recommended.

Meanwhile, Dragon Viet Securities Company (VDSC) commented that liquidity increased sharply on November 3, showing that the supply of stocks is heating up. Investors should observe the supply and demand of stocks, consider taking profits when the market recovers or wait to buy stocks at reasonable prices.
