Baemin tests electric motorbikes for drivers

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên26/04/2023

Baemin wants to support drivers to switch to electric motorbikes from traditional gasoline vehicles, helping them save costs in the process of transporting orders. Using electric motorbikes helps optimize operating costs through the battery replacement mechanism and brings a "no noise, no gas fumes" experience and raises awareness of environmental protection.

In the initial testing phase, Baemin drivers will experience Selex electric motorbike delivery and conduct a survey to evaluate the process of using the vehicle. After that, the Baemin team will propose appropriate cooperation policies and offer compatible driver support programs. Through this event, Baemin drivers with good single-trip performance will be directly handed over electric vehicles by the Selex team, instructed on how to use the vehicle and change the battery at the station via the phone application.

Selex Motors is also the leading electric vehicle manufacturer that Baemin has chosen to sign a cooperation agreement with in promoting green delivery vehicles in Vietnam. With an optimized electric motorbike ecosystem for delivery, Selex Motors has provided breakthrough solutions in charging, helping users save 40% of operating costs and improve delivery efficiency through specialized design and IoT technology integrated on the phone application.

Instead of having to charge in the traditional way, Baemin drivers can swap batteries directly at the battery swapping station in less than 2 minutes to continue driving. Currently, Selex's battery swapping system has more than 30 points in Hanoi and more than 20 points in Ho Chi Minh City, best serving the delivery work that requires continuous circulation on the road.

Mr. Jinwoo Song, General Director of Baemin Vietnam shared: "Signing a cooperation agreement with S ELEX is our next effort in the journey towards sustainable development. Last March, we reached a cooperation agreement with ServeOne company to launch "Baemin Grocery" with the desire to provide environmentally friendly packaging products to restaurant partners at reasonable prices. This cooperation also demonstrates the contribution of both parties to the Government 's common policy in implementing synchronous solutions towards the goal of 'net zero emissions' by 2050".
