At the 10th grade exam site at Hung Vuong High School (District 5), many candidates left the exam room with bright smiles, saying that the exam was within their ability. This image is in complete contrast to last year, when many candidates burst into tears because the exam was considered very difficult, especially in practical math questions.
Among the "forest" of candidates in an excited mood, Phuc An, a student at Vo Thanh Trang Secondary School (Tan Phu District), made everyone worried when she suddenly burst into tears. Immediately, her father ran to hug the female student in his arms, wiping away her tears. However, after only a few moments, her father immediately rejoiced again, waving his hand to signal his joy to the remaining parents waiting in front of the school gate.
Sharing that when her mood stabilized, An said she did not cry because the test was difficult, but because she had completed the test beyond her expectations before the test. "Normally, I only practice the geometry questions in case I cannot do the system of equations questions. But in this year's test, I was able to do both the system of equations and the geometry questions," the female student said emotionally.

Thus, the only question An missed was the shape question. With this result, An believes that he will get a score of 9 or even 9.5, much higher than his original intention of only getting a score of 7. This is the basis to help him have more opportunities to conquer his first wish to enter Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted (District 5).
Similar to An, many candidates also said that this year's math test was within their ability and they were likely to get high scores. "The math test was relatively within their ability, easier than the one I practiced last year. There was only one question I couldn't do, but I was confident that I did it well," said Nguyen Hoang Thao Nguyen, a student at Tran Quang Khai Secondary School (District 12).

Cuu Thanh Lam, a student at Lu Gia Secondary School (District 11), said that today's math test was only difficult in question 6 and question c of geometry, the rest was "easy". "The practical questions asking to calculate the radius of a tennis ball or calculate the probability of an insurance package are all common types of questions", the male student is confident that he can get a score of 8.5 to 9 for this test.
Ly Vy Khang, a student at Saigon Practical High School (Saigon University), said that this year there will be many 7s and 8s. "This year's exam, except for question 6, which is quite strange, the remaining questions are quite familiar. Questions 3 and 4 in the practical math section are relatively easy, and it doesn't take much time to figure out how to do the test," Khang recalled.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, informed that the 10th grade math exam will be presented through the following knowledge streams: Geometry and Measurement; Numbers and Algebra; Statistics and Probability. The purpose of the exam is to assess mathematical abilities such as mathematical thinking and reasoning, mathematical problem solving, and mathematical modeling. Of which, there are 3 questions on practical math, accounting for 3.5 points; and the problem on plane geometry accounts for 3 points.
This year's math exam for 10th graders at public schools in Ho Chi Minh City is considered suitable for candidates.

This afternoon (June 7), candidates will continue to take specialized exams if they register for specialized schools. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, 76,435 candidates registered for the 2025 exam and the total enrollment target is 70,070 places, meaning about 91.7% of candidates will be admitted to public schools. On the other hand, the total target for private schools is nearly 19,500 places, helping to reduce competitive pressure compared to previous years.
