2 Pencak Silat athletes from Quang Ninh received the Labor Medal

(PLVN) - Two Pencak Silat athletes from Quang Ninh, Nguyen Quang Thanh and Le Thanh Trung, were recently awarded the Labor Medal by the President for their excellent achievements at the 2024 World Youth Pencak Silat Championship.

Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that on the evening of June 6, in Ha Tinh, within the framework of the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 National Youth Pencak Silat Championship organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Ha Tinh province, the Labor Medal Awarding Ceremony took place, in which athlete Nguyen Quang Thanh was awarded the First Class Labor Medal, athlete Le Thanh Trung received the Second Class Labor Medal.

Quang Ninh province continues to strongly develop high-performance martial arts in the coming time.

Nguyen Quang Thanh won the Gold Medal in the men's 67kg category; Le Thanh Trung won the Silver Medal in the men's 59kg category at the 2024 World Pencak Silat Youth and Championships.

Previously, at the 2024 World Pencak Silat Championships and Youth Championships taking place from December 15 to December 22 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nguyen Quang Thanh won the Gold Medal in the men's 67kg category; Le Thanh Trung won the Silver Medal in the men's 59kg category.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province shared that the outstanding achievements of the two athletes are a source of pride for Quang Ninh sports, and at the same time, it recognizes the effective investment and methodical training of the province's Pencak Silat athletes in the past time. This is an important driving force for Quang Ninh province to continue to strongly develop high-performance martial arts in the coming time.
