Exciting 1st O Dien Commune Sports Festival

The Congress is a special event, a great festival of the entire people, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, strength and aspiration to rise of the heroic and traditional homeland of O Dien.

Starting from 8am, the parade to show off the force took place in a heroic atmosphere with bustling music and colorful flags. The event had the participation of armed forces, organizations, representatives of villages, residential groups, residential areas, students...

Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of O Dien commune Nguyen Van Duc lit the bonfire. The blazing fire symbolizes the strength, will, belief and desire for victory of O Dien commune sports .

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of O Dien commune, Bui Thi Thu Hang, said that in recent years, the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" in O Dien commune has become a beautiful feature in the cultural life of every citizen.

Currently, in the commune, there are 55 village cultural houses, residential clusters, 15 community sports fields, 74 outdoor sports equipment installation points serving the people effectively. The mass sports movement has developed strongly with 138 clubs maintaining regular activities, attracting more and more people from all walks of life to participate in training, such as: Football, volleyball, badminton, athletics, martial arts, health care, folk dance...

From that movement, O Dien commune has had many outstanding high-achievement athletes, such as: National Grandmaster Nguyen Thi Thuy, Nguyen Tien Loc; Southeast Asian champions: Pham Nhu Duy, Pham Nhu Kien, Nguyen Van Truong, Nguyen Van Manh; Tennis runner-up Nguyen Thi Mai Linh...

Not only stopping at the movement, in the coming time, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of O Dien commune will continue to pay attention to investing, upgrading facilities, expanding cultural and sports institutions; organizing more gifted classes, creating conditions for young talents to be trained and developed, especially in the locality's strong sports, contributing to making the sports movement of O Dien commune increasingly prosperous.

According to Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of O Dien Commune, Bui Thi Thu Hang, the first O Dien Commune Sports Festival is not only an opportunity for athletes to compete, exchange and learn, but also an opportunity to demonstrate solidarity, improve health and build a civilized and healthy lifestyle.

“This is also an opportunity for us to look back on the past, appreciate the efforts and achievements of the mass sports movement, and at the same time add faith, aspiration and motivation to build our homeland O Dien to become more and more developed, civilized and rich”, Vice Chairwoman of O Dien Commune People's Committee Bui Thi Thu Hang shared.

On this occasion, to promptly recognize and encourage agencies, units, organizations and individuals with achievements in organizing the 1st Commune Sports Festival, the People's Committee of O Dien commune commended outstanding collectives and individuals.
