At the flag-raising ceremony, union members and young people had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Pham Chanh Truc, a representative of the generation who devoted their youth to building, protecting and developing the city, so that today's generation can live in peace and development.
Going back in time, Mr. Pham Chanh Truc took the young people to review the glorious history of the nation. He said: "Where did the August Revolution succeed and the National Day on September 2nd come from? It was from the establishment of the Party in 1930, with the Party's leadership, that our nation successfully carried out the revolution and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. Where did the Party come from, thanks to whom did we have the Party? It was from June 5, 1911, right here, the patriotic young man Nguyen Tat Thanh left to find a way to save the country. After defining the path to save the country, Uncle Ho returned to Guangzhou, China to organize training classes for cadres to prepare to mobilize the people to overthrow the colonialists. In 1941, Uncle Ho returned to the country, directly leading the revolutionary movement. 4 years later, we had the successful August Revolution and established the Democratic Republic of Vietnam".
Mr. Pham Chanh Truc sent a message to the young generation: "Having the red flag with yellow star like today, let's follow in the footsteps of our ancestors, those who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, to make the country progress, become more prosperous, happy, civilized, modern and move towards socialism. I wish you young people today always success and dedicate yourself to the country."
Those heartfelt words not only help today's youth to be more proud of the nation's history but also arouse in each person the belief, aspiration and responsibility to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, to preserve and build an increasingly rich and civilized Fatherland.
Representing the story of today's next generation, young teacher Dang Bich Tram, Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary School, who has been sowing the seeds of knowledge, awakening love for the Fatherland in the hearts of young green shoots, expressed: "Patriotic blood always flows in the hearts of Vietnamese people, but how to love the country properly, and how to express it, that is the process that teachers need to cultivate for today's and future generations. Understanding our responsibility, we always pay attention to that, everyone together builds topics and educational activities associated with important days in the history of the nation so that the children know that these are the precious traditions of their ancestors; and to have today's peace, how many previous generations sacrificed their blood and bones".
At the program, the Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union launched the Union at all levels, members and young people to participate in the peak period of the Journey "I love my Fatherland" associated with the activity "Proud of the National Flag". Each member and young person of the city uses the national flag to express their love for their homeland, country and national spirit; placing the national flag in solemn positions in the family, workplace and study place.
Also at the program, in the solemn atmosphere of the flag-raising ceremony, the previous generation and the leaders presented the Badge commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the city's outstanding youth union members. This is not only a reward but also a sacred symbol, like a spiritual torch passed on to today's generation, to live up to those who have gone before, continuing to write a new page of history for the nation.
