Tickets for Vietnam - Iraq match in 2026 World Cup qualifiers on sale

Vietnam will open the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup with a trip to the Philippines on November 16 and return home to host Iraq five days later (November 21).

In order to have the best preparation plan for the home match, VFF has made a series of announcements related to this event. VFF has decided to choose My Dinh Stadium as the home stadium of the "Golden Star Warriors" in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. Tickets are expected to be issued through online ticket sales channels from November 7 with 4 prices: 200,000 VND, 300,000 VND, 450,000 VND and 600,000 VND.

VFF hopes that the audience can come to the stadium to watch, cheer and directly support coach Philippe Troussier and his team in the important match of the Second Qualifying Round of the 2026 World Cup against a strong opponent from West Asia on November 21.

According to the announcement of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the referee team in charge of the match between the Vietnamese team and the Iraqi team. Specifically, the main referee is Mr. Al Marri Abdulla (Qatar). Two assistants are: Khalaf Khaled, Alshammari Faisal (Qatar) and the fourth referee from Singapore: Mr. Albadowe Ahmad Bin Ahmad.

According to statistics from soccerway in the past 5 years, referee Al Marri Abdulla has participated in a total of 38 official matches, including 3 international friendly matches such as Iceland vs Estonia, Sweden vs Finland, Oman vs Ecuador. Also in these 38 matches, Mr. Al Marri Abdulla did not issue a single red card. The peak was the match between Al Khor and Al Ahli in the Qatar National Championship held in 2020. At that time, Mr. Al Marri Abdulla issued 7 yellow cards.

Mr. Al Marri Abdulla once had a bit of a relationship with the Vietnamese team. Specifically, he was the VAR referee in the match between the Vietnamese team and the Australian team, which took place on September 7 in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers at My Dinh Stadium. Mr. Al Marri Abdulla also worked as a VAR referee in the match between the Netherlands women's team and the Portugal women's team at the 2023 Women's World Cup. Those were also the two opponents that faced the Vietnamese women's team in the world tournament at that time.
