New salary table for "off-staff" police, increased by 3.5 million VND

According to Clause 6, Article 2 of the Law on People's Public Security, public security workers are Vietnamese citizens with technical expertise, recruited to work in the People's Public Security but not eligible for the rank of officer, non-commissioned officer or soldier.

The salary regime for police officers is stipulated in Clause 1, Article 9 of Decree 49/2019/ND-CP detailing and implementing a number of articles of the Law on People's Public Security.

Accordingly, the salary table for police officers is specified in the Appendix issued with this Decree.

In the salary table, police workers are classified into 3 grades: A, B and C. Grade A workers are classified into 2 groups (group 1 and group 2).

Group 1 A workers: Arranged and assigned according to job positions requiring university degrees and corresponding vocational skills.

Group 2 A workers: Arranged and assigned according to job positions requiring college degrees and corresponding vocational skills.

Workers of category B: Arranged and assigned according to job positions requiring intermediate level and corresponding vocational skills.

Category C workers: Arranged and assigned according to job positions requiring primary certificates and corresponding vocational skills.

Salary is calculated by multiplying the salary coefficient by the basic salary as prescribed by the Government .

From July 1, 2024, the new basic salary applied is 2,340,000 VND/month, leading to an increase in the salary table of police officers.
