It is worth mentioning that this is the fourth consecutive time that coach Mai Duc Chuc Chung and his team have stepped onto the highest podium at the SEA Games.
On the contrary, U22 Vietnam failed in its mission to defend the gold medal in men's football after losing to U22 Indonesia.
Faced with that situation, Siam Sport (Thailand) published an article with the title: "Rescuing the men's team from a failed tournament, the Vietnamese women's team won the 4th consecutive SEA Games championship."
In the article, the Thai newspaper affirmed that Huynh Nhu and her teammates showed a completely superior strength compared to the Myanmar women's team.
“The Myanmar women’s team barely posed any danger to the Vietnamese women’s team. This was a match in which the girls in red played tightly and effectively. They completely deserved the championship,” wrote Siam Sport.
Sharing the same view, another Thai newspaper, SMM Sport, believes that coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are dominating regional football.
“In the last 4 SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's team has always won the highest title. They did not encounter too many difficulties when they won 2-0 against Myanmar women in the final match.
Winning four consecutive gold medals affirms the dominance of Vietnamese women's football in the SEA Games arena," the newspaper said.
Meanwhile, AFP news agency (Southeast Asia) focused on Thanh Nha's beautiful goal to seal the 2-0 victory.
“Thanh Nha's superb lob helped the Vietnamese women's team defeat the Myanmar women's team and thrilled 8,000 fans at the Olympic Stadium,” AFP commented.
