Recently, the Vietnamese entertainment industry was stirred up when singer Bao Uyen - a former contestant of The Voice 2015 - suddenly appeared in a 5-minute video on her personal page with nearly 200,000 followers, denouncing the fact that she had been oppressed in this famous music competition.
In the clip, Bao Uyen frankly shared: "Things you need to prepare if you want to be a singer: 1 relationship, 2 money, 3 extremely talented friends". She said that after 10 years, even though she had a hit, she still couldn't participate in any shows or programs.
According to Bao Uyen, the reason she couldn't make it to the final round of The Voice 2015 was because of a misunderstanding with someone called "Miss". Bao Uyen said: "I'm not good at flattery, but other people said: 'Miss, I love you, I've liked you for a long time'. But I just stood there with a blank face, not knowing what to say, so she misunderstood that I didn't like her".

In particular, Bao Uyen revealed a shocking detail: "The day I was busy and couldn't go to team practice, someone told me: 'Teacher, he told me he doesn't like you' so the misunderstanding got even bigger."
Bao Uyen was also told by "a member of the organizing committee" after 4 years the reason why she was not allowed to enter the final round because "she was not liked" and was considered a "copycat" who could "usurp her position at any time".
Although she did not mention a specific name, Bao Uyen's constant use of the word "Miss" has led to public speculation that she was referring to coach My Tam. Because in 2015, Bao Uyen was the youngest contestant in the competition and often called My Tam "Miss". After the show, Bao Uyen was also referred to by many people as "My Tam's student".
Immediately after the video went viral, the online community had many mixed opinions. Some people said that Bao Uyen's sharing was one-sided, lacking concrete evidence and based only on hearsay. Many people doubted whether the purpose behind the post was a ploy to attract attention.
On the afternoon of June 3, in the face of fierce public reaction, Bao Uyen spoke up on her personal page: "For 10 years, I have always lived with the mindset of having nothing to lose. I only tell this story, because my soul has waited a long time to speak up. In the future, if my heart still wants music, I will still sing. I accept words of encouragement and criticism."

Amidst the noise of the incident, singer Hoang Quyen spoke up to defend My Tam on her personal page.
"One day you become a teacher and a lifetime of learning and gratitude! After Vietnam Idol, the first music night of her career , the first cold season of 2015, Ms. Tam sent a beautiful flower basket... I learned from Ms. Tam the heart. Let's learn from her and not upset her!", she wrote.
Ms. Ly Phuong Chau - Manager of MTE dance troupe - also had a strong reaction: "If you intend to do a PR strategy or create a scandal to heat up your name, dragging Ms. My Tam into it and saying bad things is a terrible mistake and a bad tactic! It's not natural that she has stood firmly in that position for more than 20 years in showbiz and is loved by so many people."
Currently, The Voice organizers, My Tam or the contestants in 2015 have not responded to the incident. Bao Uyen’s story after 10 years is a hot topic on social networking forums.
