Promote the role of pioneering, leading, motivating and encouraging

This is the emphasis of journalist, Colonel Le Ngoc Long - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Chairman of the People's Army Newspaper Journalists Association when he said that the participation of all levels of the Journalists Association in protecting the Party's ideology and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints is very important. The political task of the press is to inform and propagate to all classes of people to firmly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and viewpoints; at the same time, it is responsible for contributing to the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, distorting the Party's guidelines and policies, the Party's policies and laws, because they harm the interests of the Party, the State and the people.

From the perspective of a press agency leader, Mr. Long said that in professional activities such as organizing special pages, columns, programs and building forces to participate in propaganda, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Journalists' Associations at all levels need to promote their pioneering role, leading, motivating and encouraging press agencies, cadres, reporters and members to actively respond, participate in writing articles, organizing special pages, columns and propaganda programs on Party building work, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

To do this, the Association at all levels needs to coordinate with press agencies, propaganda agencies, information and communication agencies to develop plans, organize forces (reporters and collaborators, experts, scientists ) to form a widespread network and position in propaganda work, protecting the Party's ideological foundation. There are policies to encourage, treat appropriately, and promptly reward journalists, members, and collaborators who actively and effectively participate in the task of propaganda, protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and fighting against erroneous and hostile views.

Along with regular education, raising awareness, and training political qualities for cadres and members, the Association at all levels must strengthen member management, resolutely fight against the ideology of pursuing purely economic interests in professional activities; at the same time, criticize and prevent the situation where some journalists show signs of degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, speak ill of the Party and State on social networks, showing wavering and lack of confidence in the Party's leadership.

Accordingly, all levels of the Association need to strengthen propaganda, education, orientation about the Party, and political awareness for cadres and members. These are basic issues, necessary and very important conditions for each cadre and member to participate in propaganda, protect the Party's ideological foundation, and fight against the wrong views of hostile forces.

Not only from the Inter-Association, the press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City have thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented the leadership, direction and information orientation of the Party and the State, closely following the goal of maintaining political stability, creating social consensus, consolidating people's trust in the Party and the regime; providing timely, honest and comprehensive information on the political, economic and social life of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country; in which the information and propaganda on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting wrong and hostile viewpoints have been given attention and invested in thoroughly with specialized pages, columns, programs and articles that are profound, rich and high-quality.

Journalist Nguyen Tan Phong - Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association cited a number of newspapers that have done well in this task, such as: Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Tuoi Tre, Nguoi Lao Dong, Phu Nu Thanh Ho Chi Minh, Phap Luat Thanh Ho Chi Minh, Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), Ho Chi Minh City People's Voice Radio (VOH), etc., which have built and operated well specialized pages and columns to periodically propagate and encourage the serious and effective implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile views in the new situation"...

In general, programs and columns are invested in with many innovations, attractive and lively content, highly appreciated by public opinion, creating a good effect in society. In addition to programs and news in Vietnamese, some newspapers and radio stations also produce programs and publications in foreign languages to help information spread to the world.

Ho Chi Minh City press agencies, along with other press agencies nationwide, have published many articles that deeply discuss and thoroughly explain, helping to strengthen and consolidate scientific beliefs, making the Party's ideology and socialist ideals play a leading role in the spiritual life of society, creating a very positive ripple effect among the people...

Currently, our country is facing many opportunities and advantages, but also many difficulties and challenges. Mr. Phong is particularly concerned about new requirements when hostile, reactionary and opportunistic forces continue to increase their sabotage; relying on the explosion of the Internet and social networks to create more sophisticated and cunning activities.

Accordingly, Mr. Huu Phong said that the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association plans to step up propaganda on the Association's Website and on Ho Chi Minh City Newspapers and Radio Stations in the coming time, open training courses on political theory and professional skills; organize seminars, talks, exhibitions, etc. focusing on raising awareness of the position, role, and importance of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile views in the new situation and inviting leaders, cadres, reporters, and editors of press agencies to participate.

Members of 32 branches and grassroots journalist associations at press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City are encouraged to focus on reflecting on the correct and creative application of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought into practice; actively propagating and spreading positive factors, advanced examples, good people and good deeds; encouraging the cause of innovation, for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization in accordance with the orientation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; The Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association will recommend the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and relevant agencies to promote the creation of high unity in the leadership and management of press activities in the area; Strictly implement the 10 Articles of the Code of Professional Ethics for Vietnamese Journalists and the Rules for Using Social Networks for Vietnamese Journalists.

In addition, the Association also participates in influencing the innovation of propaganda content and forms; increases the quantity and quality of programs and articles on the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation; in which, each program and article must have a solid theoretical basis, profound viewpoints and arguments, be topical and have value in orienting the awareness and ideology of readers.
