Protect the Fatherland early, from afar, protect the country when it is not yet in danger.

On June 7, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with the Central Theoretical Council to organize a national scientific conference: Protecting the Fatherland early, from afar, defending the country when it is not yet in danger; looking back at the past 10 years and forecasting the situation until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The workshop was co-chaired by: General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Professor, Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Lieutenant General Tran Vi Dan, Member of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Department of Science, Strategy and History of the Public Security.

Attending the workshop were Party Central Committee members: Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Doan Anh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, along with leaders of central departments, ministries and branches, and many scientists, generals and senior officers in the People's Public Security and the People's Army.

According to the report of the Organizing Committee, the Conference received 78 scientific reports and at the Conference, delegates focused on assessing and forecasting the world and domestic situation from now until 2030, with a vision to 2045, and recommending and proposing many viewpoints, good practices, useful solutions, and high feasibility to serve the cause of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation. These are also very profound and dedicated discussions of generals, senior officers, scientists, and researchers around this topic.

The workshop listened to the opinions and presentations of delegates representing departments, ministries, branches, scientists, generals, and officers in the People's Public Security and the People's Army. The opinions deepened the Party's awareness and viewpoint on protecting the Fatherland early and from afar; defending the country when it is not yet in danger; at the same time, emphasizing the care, building, and promoting the great national unity bloc to contribute to creating the foundation and endogenous strength of the country to protect the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam. Highlighting the core role and important contributions of the People's Public Security and the People's Army in the cause of protecting the Fatherland.

The results of the Workshop have clarified the outstanding achievements of the cause of defending the Fatherland under the wise leadership of the Party, especially the 10 years of implementing the Resolution of the 8th Central Committee, Session XI; at the same time, pointed out valuable lessons that need to be further grasped, such as: The cause of defending the Fatherland must be placed under the direct, absolute leadership in all aspects of the Party, the centralized, unified management of the State; constantly promoting the strength of the entire political system, the coordination and combat cooperation of the armed forces./.
