The 17-year-old striker will continue Messi's legacy. The Argentine superstar is also Yamal's idol. Currently, the number 10 shirt of Barcelona belongs to Ansu Fati. However, the 22-year-old striker's future at Camp Nou next season is not guaranteed due to his limited contributions.
Yamal has changed his shirt number three times while playing for Barcelona. He made his first-team debut with the number 41 in the 2022/23 season, then changed to the number 27. This season, the 17-year-old striker has worn the number 19 shirt and has been in great form.
According to the plan, Yamal will officially sign a new contract right after his 18th birthday (July 13). This contract will come with a release clause of up to 1 billion euros.
