Unable to keep up with Quang Hai, Theerathon blamed it on injury

In the second leg of the Southeast Asian Cup final on the evening of May 21, Theerathon was substituted quite early. In the 63rd minute, he was taken off the field and replaced by midfielder Phitiwat Sookjitthammakul.

After the match, Theerathon Bunmathan said: "I didn't play well because I had to stop playing football for about two months, and only returned to training a few days before the first leg of the final (May 14) took place."

"Currently, I have only recovered about 60-70% of my physical strength. The left knee injury is still causing me difficulties, I have difficulty crossing the ball with the inside of my left foot. In addition, in strong collisions, I still feel pain," Theerathon Bunmathan added.

It is worth noting that after playing poorly in both matches of the Southeast Asian Cup 1 final, being continuously substituted early in both matches, the former captain of the Thai team no longer had an arrogant attitude when answering the media.

Theerathon Bunmathan seems to be more modest when talking about Buriram United's past journey, as well as the upcoming journey of this team.

He shared with the media of the Land of Golden Pagodas: "Buriram United needs to focus on the last two matches of the season (the Thai FA Cup final on May 24 and the Thai League Cup final on May 31). The important thing is that my teammates and I must recover our physical strength."

"Buriram United need to play in the familiar style like the way we played in the last matches. As for me, I hope next season will be better for me," said Theerathon Bunmathan.
