We recently had the opportunity to "accompany" a fishing boat of fishermen in Tran Van Thoi district who are fishing with humpbacks to catch this valuable fish species. Mr. Phan Van Thua, the owner of the fishing boat, said that raft fish often appear in different areas at certain times of the year. Currently, the price of fish is about 50,000 VND/kg. The raft fish are quite large, the smallest fish is over 2 kg, but large fish are often caught, from 5-10 kg/fish. Therefore, the economic efficiency of exploiting this fish species is quite high.

The fish has delicious meat and is consumed strongly both domestically and for export (mainly to China and Cambodia).
