Provincial leaders, district leaders and BIDV leaders cut the ribbon to inaugurate Kenh Xeo Lang bridge, Tan Hoa hamlet, Phong Dien commune.
Kenh Xeo Lang Bridge was built with reinforced concrete, over 35 m long, 3.3 m wide, load capacity 2.5 tons, with a total cost of over 700 million VND. After nearly 2 months of construction, the project was completed and put into use, meeting the travel and freight transport needs of local people.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Mien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Phong Dien Commune People's Committee, expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the province, district and especially BIDV, for their support in the construction of this essential bridge.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Hien awarded a certificate of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to the BIDV Ca Mau Grassroots Trade Union.
"Kenh Xeo Lang Bridge will contribute to connecting rural traffic routes, creating favorable conditions for traffic, developing the socio -economy, and improving people's lives," Mr. Mien emphasized.
Representative of the sponsor, Ms. Vu Thi Nga, Permanent Vice President of BIDV Trade Union, shared: We believe that each bridge built not only connects the two banks but also serves as a bridge to the future, helping students go to school safely and people earn a living more conveniently. Especially in areas with many difficulties such as the Mekong Delta, BIDV always devotes its heart to social security programs in addition to business activities.
Mr. Kieu Minh Tieng, Vice Chairman of Tran Van Thoi District People's Committee, presented a letter of thanks from the Chairman of the District People's Committee to BIDV Ca Mau Branch.
Mr. Kieu Minh Tieng, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Van Thoi district, said: "In the past time, the district has mobilized the construction of about 1,000 rural bridges. However, due to complex geological conditions and limited resources, many bridges have not yet met the requirements in terms of load and scale. Kenh Xeo Lang Bridge is a project of practical significance. We hope that in the coming time, BIDV, together with other units and donors, will continue to accompany us to gradually complete the rural transport network in the area."
Expressing her joy at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dau, a resident of My Binh hamlet, Phong Dien commune, emotionally shared: “Before, it was very difficult for us to travel, especially during the rainy season, we had to take a motorboat across the canal which was very dangerous. Now that there is a new bridge, our children can go to school safely, and trading is also more convenient. We really thank BIDV and the authorities at all levels.”
On this occasion, BIDV Ca Mau presented 20 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND in cash, to poor and disadvantaged households in the commune.

The new bridge is not only an essential traffic project, but also a symbol of the companionship and connection between businesses and the community in the journey of building new rural areas in the southernmost part of the country.
