Arrest of Chief of Office of Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lam Dong province

Mr. Pham Thanh Cong was prosecuted and temporarily detained to investigate the act of fraud and property appropriation.

Authorities searched the private home of the Chief of Office of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lam Dong province.

On the evening of September 24, Lam Dong Provincial Police coordinated with other agencies to search the residence of Mr. Pham Thanh Cong, Chief of Office of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lam Dong Province.

At the private residence of the Chief of Office of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lam Dong province (on Ly Nam De street, ward 8, Da Lat city), the authorities completed the search at around 9:15 p.m.

Initial information, many years ago, Mr. Pham Thanh Cong received 1 billion VND from people in Duc Trong district to help change the land use purpose. However, after a long time, Mr. Cong could not help but also did not return the money to the people.

At the regular voter meeting of the Standing Committee of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee held on September 10, 2024, people denounced the fraud and property appropriation of the Chief of Office of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Lam Dong province.

Immediately afterwards, the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee leaders directed the Lam Dong Provincial Police to urgently investigate and clarify the incident.

Based on collected evidence and through working with relevant people, Lam Dong Provincial Police decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and temporarily detain the Chief of Office of Lam Dong Department of Natural Resources and Environment for further investigation.
