Many people were surprised when the authorities removed a series of even-numbered parking prohibition signs, contrary to the information given: "Maintaining the status quo of 23 prohibition signs of the same type on a stretch of road of about 1km". This series of signs was placed on National Highway 27, through Lac Lam commune, Don Duong district, Lam Dong province.
On the morning of February 24, the leaders of Don Duong district, Lam Dong province informed that the authorities had removed a series of signs prohibiting parking on even-numbered days, out of 23 signs on a 1km stretch of National Highway 27, passing through Lac Lam commune.
This move was made after local authorities consulted with the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Transport and relevant authorities.
“This morning (February 24), the People's Committee of Don Duong district directed the relevant functional forces of the district to remove the signs on the above road section, leaving only the signs at both ends and temporarily using auxiliary signs. The locality will continue to implement the next steps according to the instructions of the authorities,” informed Secretary of the Don Duong District Party Committee Duong Thi Nga.

The dismantling of these signs surprised many people, because the day before, the People's Committee of Don Duong district had sent a report to the People's Committee of Lam Dong province and relevant agencies about "responding to the reflection on the installation of many signs prohibiting parking on even days on National Highway 27, through Lac Lam commune, Don Duong district". It stated: "The installation of signs on National Highway 27, through Lac Lam commune, was carried out in accordance with the provisions of the National Technical Regulation on Road Signs QCVN 41:2019/BGTVT, issued by the Ministry of Transport ".
The leader of Don Duong district said that after the meeting, the authorities agreed to "maintain the status quo" of 23 similar prohibition signs on a 1km stretch of National Highway 27, passing through Lac Lam commune.
Speaking to the press, the leader of the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province said that after the press reported, the leader of Road Management Area IV.1 discussed with the leader of the department and agreed that it was not necessary to put up so many signs on a 1km stretch of road. The leader of Don Duong district also consulted on the contents related to this matter.
According to the leader of the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province, the placement of the no parking signs in Lac Lam commune is not wrong, but a bit “mechanical”. No parking signs should only be placed before turns into major roads, not necessarily in small alleys; or every few hundred meters, a reminder sign should be placed; along with a secondary directional sign.
A series of similar prohibition signs were placed close together before being removed.
As reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper, on National Highway 27, the section passing through Lac Lam Commune, Don Duong District, about 1km long, 23 signs of the same type were "planted" - no parking on even days, making road users "dizzy". After receiving the information, the leader of the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province said that placing the signs after each intersection with National Highway 27 was not wrong, but a bit "mechanical" .
Regarding the incident, the People's Committee of Don Duong district has requested relevant units to study and propose adjustment plans (if any) to ensure the requirements of traffic safety and order management in the area.
