Unexpected discovery of 3 kites floating near the runway of Noi Bai airport

A representative of Noi Bai airport has just informed that the crew of a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi was preparing to land on the runway when they discovered three kites hovering near the runway.

The incident occurred at around 14:56, the flight crew of the Kuala Lumpur - Hanoi flight discovered 3 kites flying in the area near the beginning of runway 11L/29R. At that time, the plane was in the approach phase to land at Noi Bai airport.

Immediately upon receiving information from the flight crew, Noi Bai Airport Emergency Command Center promptly notified the authorities for timely handling.

Noi Bai Police Station coordinated with communes near the eastern end of the runway and aviation security forces to conduct field inspections.

In Bac Gia village (Phu Lo commune, Soc Son district), authorities discovered four children flying kites. Three kites were confiscated, the children and their guardians were warned and a report was made, and awareness was raised about compliance with aviation safety corridor regulations.

“It is currently summer vacation time for students, so the risk of activities such as kite flying and balloon releasing near the airport is increasing. Noi Bai International Airport recommends that local authorities increase communication, inspection, and coordination to ensure absolute safety for each flight,” said a representative of Noi Bai Airport.
