The Government assigned the Ministry of Finance to take the lead in proposing a solution to handle Binh Duong province's proposal regarding the bridge project connecting Dong Nai province.

(DN) - The Government Office has issued Document No. 5175/VPCP-CN (dated June 11, 2025) to the Ministry of Finance and the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to notify the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on assigning the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to be the competent authority to implement the Hieu Liem 2 Bridge Construction Project.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Finance to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to study the report and recommendations of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee on the project-related recommendations. From there, propose a solution and report to the Prime Minister before June 15, 2025.

The Hieu Liem 2 Bridge construction project has a total route length of nearly 1.5km, including the Hieu Liem 2 Bridge across the Be River, 150m long, the Binh Duong approach road is more than 1.2km long, and the Dong Nai approach road is about 100m long.

The project starts at the entrance to Hieu Liem ferry, Hieu Liem commune, Bac Tan Uyen district, Binh Duong province; the end point intersects with Hieu Liem road, Hieu Liem commune, Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province.

The project is divided into 2 investment phases, each phase will build 1 bridge unit 2m apart with a scale of 2 mixed traffic lanes. In phase 1, the project is proposed to build 1 bridge unit with a cross-section of 14m. The project has a total estimated investment of nearly 362 billion VND.

On May 22, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province sent an official dispatch to the Prime Minister assigning the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to be the competent authority to implement this project.

Currently, the Hieu Liem 2 Bridge Construction Project has been agreed by the People's Council of Binh Duong province and the People's Council of Dong Nai province to assign the People's Committee of Binh Duong province as the competent authority to implement.

On that basis and based on the provisions of the Law on Public Investment, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province reports to the Prime Minister for consideration and assignment of the People's Committee of Binh Duong province as the competent authority to implement the Hieu Liem 2 Bridge Construction Project to carry out the next steps according to regulations.
