"Currently, the unit is doing the procedures to bring this python to Phong Dien rescue center," said Mr. Duc.
Previously, at noon on April 1, Mr. NVĐ (residing in Vy Da Ward, Hue City) discovered a "huge" sized python in his garden, then reported it to the Hue City Forest Protection Department. At noon on the same day, 6 forest rangers were dispatched to the scene, together with the people, to control this python. It was not until early afternoon that the "giant" python was brought into the cage.
Mr. Duc said the python weighed 85 kg, was 5.2 m long, was a ground python ( scientific name: python molurus), and belonged to group IIB in the list of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals.
