Arrest of former Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ha Nam province

According to the Ha Nam Provincial Police, implementing the direction of the Steering Committee on anti-corruption and negativity of Ha Nam province, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Provincial Police coordinated with the People's Procuracy of Ha Nam province to collect documents and evidence, and expand the investigation into the case of "Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences" that occurred in Ha Nam province from 2010 to 2021.

Based on collected documents, on April 5, 2023, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Provincial Police issued a Decision to supplement the Decision to prosecute the criminal case, Decision to prosecute the accused, Order to arrest the accused for temporary detention, and Search Order against Nguyen Thanh Nam (born in 1958, former Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Ha Nam Province) for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties" as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 356 of the Penal Code 2015 (amended and supplemented in 2017). The above procedural decision and order against Nguyen Thanh Nam were approved by the People's Procuracy of Ha Nam Province. On the same day, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Provincial Police executed the above decision and order.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Ha Nam Province Police is consolidating records and continuing to investigate and clarify violations of related organizations and individuals for handling according to legal regulations.
