12-year-old girl suspected of being abused by her grandmother, luckily no broken bones

(Dan Tri) - Doctors at Thai Nguyen Central Hospital said the 12-year-old girl was brought to the hospital in a state of panic and fear, and was almost unable to clearly recount what had happened.

On the afternoon of November 20, Thai Nguyen Central Hospital informed about the health condition of a 12-year-old girl suspected of being tortured and abused by her grandmother.

Doctor Hoang Van Dung, Head of the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma, Thai Nguyen Central Hospital, said that when she was brought to the hospital, the girl was panicked and scared, and could barely recount clearly what had happened.

As soon as the patient was admitted, the doctors examined him, ordered X-rays and necessary tests.

"Luckily, the girl did not have any broken bones or dangerous internal injuries, but her entire body had many bruises and soft tissue injuries, showing that she had been subjected to strong and continuous impact," Dr. Dung informed.

After 4 days of treatment, the child's health is gradually stabilizing, his spirit is gradually recovering and he is expected to be discharged early next week.

Dr. Dung said that all records, images and injury examination results have been provided by the hospital to the investigation agency in accordance with regulations.

As Dan Tri reported, the Ministry of Public Security said that the Linh Son Ward Police, Thai Nguyen Province, are verifying the case of a girl in the area who was suspected of being abused by a relative and had to be hospitalized, after images and information about the incident spread on social networks.

Previously, Ms. TQT (32 years old, residing in Linh Son ward) reported that her daughter, PA (born in 2012), was brutally beaten by her grandmother, Nguyen Thi Bich Hang (56 years old), Mr. Luong Quoc Trung (54 years old, Ms. Hang's second husband) and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh (60 years old, Ms. Hang's brother).

According to initial verification, at around 10pm on November 16, because they suspected PA of stealing money, Ms. Hang and Mr. Trung tortured, pulled her hair, slapped her, and used objects such as pieces of wood, knife blades, mops, sticks, pans, etc. to hit many parts of the girl's body.

The victim then escaped and was taken to the hospital by locals. Thai Nguyen Central Hospital recorded that the child had bruises on many areas of his body.

Linh Son Ward Police said they are consolidating records, investigating and clarifying to strictly handle according to the law.
