Regarding the incident that occurred at the Angel Children's Shelter (commonly known as the Angel Shelter, Long Truong Ward, Thu Duc City), on the morning of June 2, Dan Tri reporter went to Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) to record the current condition of TKB (12 years old).
B. is the case of a girl who had unusual convulsions after being beaten, causing a long wound on her face, which took place at the above-mentioned facility.

The shovel accidentally hit the cheek?
Inside the ward of the Neurology Department, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, we saw baby B. lying with his legs stretched out on a bed outside, the long wound on his right cheek still bandaged.
When asked by visitors about her current health and the previous incident, the girl simply replied "I don't know" and kept pointing to signal us to ask the nanny next to her.
Speaking to reporters, the nanny (who asked to remain anonymous) said that she has been supporting the Angel Shelter for about 2 years now. Regarding B.’s case, the nanny said that the child was injured around May 24, while he was washing dishes with another child living at the shelter.
Mrs. B. said that at that time, the two children were playing around. Baby B. was accidentally hit in the right cheek by a cooking shovel from her friend's hand, causing a long laceration that required several stitches. A few days later, baby B. had an unusual seizure and was taken to the hospital.
After the incident, this nanny was also called to the hospital that night and has been taking care of the baby until now.

When we asked to see the medical records, the nanny searched for a long time but could not find them. “Maybe the people at the shelter took the records to serve the investigation. The police have been coming to work at both the hospital and the shelter a lot lately,” she shared.
According to the nanny, B. was diagnosed with epilepsy a few years ago. When she was healthy, she was very good at English, won high prizes in swimming competitions, and enjoyed lifting weights.
“The wound on the baby’s face has been stitched and bandaged. However, the baby is suffering from back pain due to the need to take cerebrospinal fluid to determine the cause of the seizure,” the nanny said.
Continue treatment and monitoring
A representative of Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital informed Dan Tri reporter that in recent days, baby B. has been receiving medical treatment from doctors in the Department of Neurology. Currently, the baby is conscious, in stable health and is continuing to be closely monitored at the hospital.
The leader of Thu Duc City Health Department said that after receiving information from Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital, this agency and the authorities of Long Truong Ward (Thu Duc City) went to work at Thien Than Shelter and visited the hospital to inquire and contact the child.
As posted, at 5:00 p.m. on May 31, Thu Duc City Health Department received information from the hospital about treating a child named TKB (born in 2013, currently being cared for at the Thien Than Children's Shelter) with facial injuries.
Immediately afterwards, Thu Duc City Health Department coordinated with Long Truong ward authorities to go to the above facility to verify.

Initially, the authorities recorded that at 7:30 a.m. on May 24, B. and DKD (born in 2015), both living at the above facility, were washing dishes when they got into an argument.
D. used a shovel (about 80cm long, used for kitchens) to hit B. and caused a 10cm long cut on his left cheek. The patient then had to get 6 stitches at a local hospital.
On May 28, B. had two unusual seizures in one day, so Mr. Bui Cong H. (owner of the Angels shelter) assigned Ms. Nguyen Thi L. (staff member) to take the child to the Children's Mental Health Center for examination. After the examination, the doctor ordered the child to be hospitalized for an MRI and EEG.
According to the owner of the Angel Shelter, in 2022, baby B. went to Children's Hospital 2 for a check-up and was diagnosed with brain calcification. Notably, when the authorities arrived at the shelter, the camera system could not extract images and the storage drive was damaged.
Currently, Long Truong Ward Police and other relevant units are continuing to investigate and clarify the incident.
