Contribute to the spiritual strength of national unity
Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, read the closing speech.

Accordingly, this year's Vesak Festival received more than 1,000 presentations, focusing on the theme: "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development", once again affirming that in Buddhist teachings, the philosophy of solidarity and tolerance are two core elements expressing the spirit of compassion, wisdom and aiming for the common happiness and peace of the community, the sustainable development of each country and nation.
Solidarity and tolerance are not only Buddhist moral doctrines, but also the guiding principles for human thoughts, words and actions to build a peaceful society with less conflict and full of love. As in his important speech at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong gave the message: "We need to turn compassion into policy, turn wisdom into development orientation, and turn the spirit of Selflessness - Altruism into a guiding principle for common action" in the context of today's turbulent world.

According to Venerable Elder Thich Thanh Nhieu, Vietnamese Buddhism has always been integrated with the flow of national culture, always accompanying the nation in all historical circumstances. The philosophy of solidarity and tolerance of Buddhism has contributed to creating the identity and spiritual strength of great national solidarity; contributing to deepening the spirit of "patriotism, love for the nation", tolerance, respect for humanity, respect for righteousness, the culture of love, mutual support, sharing, "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves" ... which have been deeply ingrained in the thoughts, feelings, and souls of every Vietnamese person.
Solidarity is a priceless heritage, a precious tradition of every Vietnamese person; it is the strength that makes Vietnam a powerful nation, always overcoming all difficulties and challenges, defeating all enemies. As the President of Sri Lanka expressed in the opening session: “Vietnam is a great country that has opened up a path of courageous rise, despite hundreds of years of suffering. We are proud of the great achievements your country has achieved today from a country that has endured the worst chemical weapons attacks and the most serious injustices in history. I would also like to call your country the land of resilience”.
The 2025 Vesak Festival held at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (HCMC) was a great success. On behalf of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu thanked all delegates for coming to Vietnam and HCMC with the most special feelings.
Clearly demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, intelligence and responsibility of Vietnam.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Most Venerable Phra Brahmapundit, Chairman of the International Organizing Committee for the United Nations Day of Vesak (ICDV), said that after 3 days of urgent, solemn and inspiring work, the 2025 Vesak Festival held in Ho Chi Minh City ended in great success.

The ceremony featured lively academic forums, with the presence and in-depth discussions from Venerables, scholars, representatives of Governments and international organizations from 85 countries and territories. Accordingly, the challenges of the times such as conflicts, climate change, inequality or moral crisis... were put on the discussion table with a sense of responsibility; affirming the essential role of ethics, intercultural dialogue and the companionship of religions, especially Buddhism, in building peace for the world today and tomorrow.

"Our presence in Ho Chi Minh City - a dynamic city rich in history and hospitality - is a testament to the global Buddhist community's shared commitment to building a peaceful, compassionate and sustainable world. The 2025 Vesak Festival clearly demonstrates the spirit of solidarity, wisdom and responsibility of Vietnam towards the world Buddhist community. Through this event, the image of the lotus - the national flower of Vietnam and also the symbol of purity of Buddhism, has been spread everywhere," said Venerable Phra Brahmapundit.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Most Venerable Phra Brahmapundit expressed his sincere thanks to the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Venerables, delegates, volunteers and forces who contributed to the successful organization of the Vesak 2025 event in Vietnam.
