2-year-old boy miraculously survives fall from 15th floor of apartment building

Local police said the incident happened on the afternoon of May 15. The boy's parents were also at home at the time.

Outside the apartment balcony there is only a low glass railing which is considered unsafe.

"The boy was lucky to fall into the bushes, so the impact on his body was minimized. Age, appearance and weight are really factors that help in this case. If it was heavier, he might not have survived. This is truly a miracle," David Pazos, a member of the rescue team, shared with ABC News.

Although he is in critical condition, the boy is said to be still seriously injured and is being actively treated by doctors.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
