In recent years, the city's social organizations and unions have launched clean-ups and removed many environmental pollution hotspots such as collecting solid waste, dredging stagnant canals on main roads, planting and caring for trees on key roads in communes and wards...

These practical activities have raised awareness, consciousness, responsibility and promoted the pioneering and volunteering role of young people in volunteer activities in environmental protection; enhanced the capacity to organize environmental protection activities for the staff of the Union, Association, Team and the youth force in environmental protection at the local and grassroots levels, contributing to building a green-clean-beautiful environment.

Phuc Yen City has implemented a project to classify waste at source to help reduce environmental pollution and optimize waste collection and treatment. Local people have participated in training courses and instructions on how to classify organic, inorganic and recyclable waste right from their households.

Through the program, many residential areas, schools, businesses, etc. are supported with trash cans; environmental self-management models are supported with trash cans and brooms to maintain operations, contributing to promoting the role and effectiveness in maintaining environmental hygiene in residential areas, forming a civilized and clean lifestyle.

For many years, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life, civilized urban areas" in Phuc Yen city has been promoted. Up to now, Phuc Yen city has built more than 300 "Bright, green, clean, beautiful" roads with a total length of more than 70km in communes and wards. Many traffic routes in residential areas have been expanded, the landscape has been decorated more beautifully with public lighting systems, shady trees, playgrounds, sports training areas, and communal living areas for people, creating peaceful and livable villages. Typical examples include Lap Dinh village (Ngoc Thanh commune), Cao Quang village (Cao Minh commune), Kim Xuyen residential group (Tien Chau ward)...

In 2025, Phuc Yen city will continue to promote the movement of building "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" roads, with the goal of expanding at least 50km of standard roads; building more model residential areas, creating highlights in landscape and living environment; increasing the application of technology in urban environmental management, using smart lighting, automatic watering systems, etc.

Or the “Green Sunday” movement of the Women’s Union at all levels of Phuc Yen city has also been effective for many years.
