At the meeting, Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu gave an overview of Vietnam tourism. Accordingly, Vietnam owns more than 3,200km of coastline, about 4,000 large and small islands with beautiful and warm beaches. Vietnam also develops a variety of tourism products such as sea tourism, cultural tourism, rural tourism, railway tourism, sports tourism, etc.
With 54 ethnic groups, Vietnam has a rich culture, diverse identity, combined with unique cuisine and friendly people, making a strong impression on international tourists. Thanks to the continuous efforts in improving the quality of services and products, Vietnam has become an attractive destination in the world , recognized by many prestigious international organizations. From a modest 250,000 international visitors in 1990, by 2024, Vietnam had welcomed 17.6 million international visitors and about 110 million domestic visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching about 34 billion USD. In the first 5 months of 2025 alone, Vietnam welcomed 9.2 million international visitors, an increase of 21.3% over the same period in 2024. This achievement was made possible thanks to the policies of the Party and State to create favorable conditions for the development of the tourism industry.

Thanking the warm welcome from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Sinde Gilles Chekete highly appreciated Vietnam's experience in tourism development, and hoped that through the working session, he would learn and exchange in depth about tourism development methods. He also shared that Benin currently still has limited international flights. Tourists mainly connect through other countries in the African region. Therefore, he suggested that Vietnam could send experts to Benin for 3-6 months to support training in the tourism sector, especially in product development and human resource training.

Deputy Director Ha Van Sieu said that in the coming time, the two countries need to promote two-way tourism, promote the exchange of visitors and expand cooperation. In particular, the role of tourism businesses is very important in connecting markets, building products, attracting tourists and creating momentum for industry development.
According to the Deputy Director, in order for Benin to develop tourism strongly, in the coming time, it is necessary to cooperate with airlines, work with neighboring countries to connect flights; promote the development of domestic and international tourism with attractive and impressive promotional campaigns. In addition, Benin can research and develop community tourism, contributing to increasing people's income, in line with the role of tourism as a comprehensive economic sector.
