One of the typical examples is the herbal deer farming model of Mr. Ho Ba Xuyen, in Thanh Minh hamlet, Quynh Bang commune. In his farm with an area of ^{​​1,500m2} , he regularly raises 80-100 deer for antlers and reproduction. Each year, he sells 50-60kg of fresh antlers to the market.

Mr. Xuyen shared: Thanks to good care and a scientific nutritional regimen, most of the deer herd has their antlers cut twice a year, each time reaching a weight of 1 - 2kg/antler. To achieve this result, during the period when the deer have antlers, he adds leaves, tubers, and fruits from nature such as grass, corn, beans, jackfruit, figs, green bananas, and xoan dau...

In particular, he also feeds the deer with medicinal herbs such as ginseng, bear bile and forest leaves. At the same time, Mr. Xuyen also uses sawdust from the trunk of the mahogany tree to spread on the floor of the cage to repel mosquitoes.

The entire Quynh Bang commune currently has 100 households raising deer using medicinal herbs, with a total herd of nearly 1,000 deer. This is the commune with the largest number of households raising deer using medicinal herbs in Quynh Luu district.

In order to gather and link farmers to expand the sika deer farming model and to increase the value of the products, Quynh Bang commune has established the Herbal Deer Breeding Cooperative. This is a reliable address to update new techniques and guide members on the effective use of herbs. At the same time, it guarantees stable output products for farmers.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Tinh - Deputy Director of Quynh Bang Herbal Deer Breeding Cooperative said: Currently, the Cooperative is maintaining a herbal deer breeding model for high profits and economic value.

Currently, the Cooperative has processed many valuable products such as: Pure deer antler powder, deer antler soaked in honey, ginseng antler wine, deer antler with lotus seeds, fresh sliced ​​deer antler. Of which, there are 3 products that have achieved 3-star OCOP.

Quynh Luu is one of the districts with strengths in developing large-scale livestock and poultry farming in the province. The whole district currently has more than 2.4 million poultry, nearly 88,600 cattle; about 13,000 deer. At this time, in some localities with large deer and chicken herds such as Quynh Tan, Quynh Tam, Quynh Bang, herbs are used in livestock farming such as: bear bile plant, ginseng, Solanum procumbens, perilla, mugwort, lemongrass...

Recently, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Luu district has coordinated with specialized agencies to organize training courses on transferring scientific and technical advances using herbs for members. This method has increased the natural resistance of animals and reduced antibiotics in livestock farming. At the same time, it has linked with business units, cooperatives, cooperative groups, and professional associations to support people with breeds, feed, techniques, and output product consumption, creating a safe production and consumption chain. Thanks to that, many clean livestock products have reached diverse markets through fairs and safe agricultural product stores.
