According to statistics from the Forest Protection Department of Region 5, the area managed by the An Giang Forest Management Board of Region 1 is 5,868.75 hectares (1,448.8 hectares have been assigned to MDF VRG Kien Giang Wood Joint Stock Company); Hon Dat Forestry is 918.71 hectares and MDF VRG An Giang Wood Joint Stock Company is about 1,080 hectares.

Through a field survey, Secretary of the Party Committee of Hon Dat Commune, Duong Minh Tam, requested forest owners to strengthen inspection and management of the protected forest area, and absolutely not allow illegal land encroachment.

In particular, proactively coordinate to review the entire area of managed forest land; strengthen inspection, prevent deforestation and handle violations of forestry laws, as well as arrange checkpoints, camps, patrol forces, forest control and prepare forces on duty during the dry season according to the completed teams and groups in the forest fire prevention plan, to promptly handle on-site situations.
