Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung congratulated the cadres, doctors and nurses of the capital's health sector on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day.

Speaking at the celebration of the 69th anniversary of Vietnam Doctors' Day, Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung acknowledged, highly appreciated and congratulated the Hanoi Health sector on its outstanding work results in the past year, especially in disease prevention and control and people's health care.

Reviewing the outstanding results of Hanoi Capital in 2023, Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said that despite facing many difficulties and challenges, with the efforts of Party committees at all levels, the government and the entire political system, including the capital's medical force, the city has continued to focus on implementing specific strategic tasks in the spirit of Resolution No. 15-NQ/TU dated May 5, 2022 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks of developing Hanoi Capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Acknowledging the achievements of the Hanoi Center for Disease Control and the Department of Health, Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said that the staff of the capital's health sector have promoted tradition, continued to have new developments in the career of caring for and protecting the health of the people of the capital; increasingly contributing positively to the development of medicine in the country and the world...

“Every citizen is grateful to the doctors who, regardless of hardship and difficulty, regardless of fame or profit, have helped people prevent and overcome diseases, preserving the special asset of human beings, which is health,” Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung respectfully acknowledged.

Emphasizing that 2024 is the "acceleration" period, creating a positive premise to enter 2025 - the year of successfully completing the targets and tasks set out in the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020 - 2025 term; also the year of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung requested that the Capital's health sector needs to make more efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges.

In particular, along with strongly innovating leadership and direction methods, the health sector needs to promote the application of information technology in medical examination and treatment activities, deploy remote medical examination and treatment, combine traditional medicine with modern medicine at all levels and medical facilities...

At the meeting, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung also spent a lot of time listening to key officials of the Hanoi Health sector, on behalf of the medical team, share their thoughts and aspirations, and raise difficulties and problems...

In particular, the representative of the leadership of Ba Vi District General Hospital said that the hospital currently provides medical examination and treatment for about 1,000 to 1,500 visits/day. The number of patients from neighboring provinces and Ba Vi district coming to the hospital for treatment in 2023 increased by 134% compared to the plan. From this reality, the hospital recommended that the city's leaders pay attention to investing in purchasing medical equipment to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people.

The representative of the Oncology Hospital also shared about the cancer situation with about 16,000 cancer cases each year and about 35,000 people living with cancer... From this situation, the Hospital hopes that the city will pay attention to building a second facility of the hospital in Quoc Oai district; developing specialized departments; building a smart operating room system connected to leading general centers in Vietnam and supporting the health sector to build a city-wide drug preparation center... to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment to serve the people.

On behalf of the Capital's Health sector, Director of the Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha accepted the direction of the Secretary of the City Party Committee, affirming to focus on breakthrough solutions, determined to excellently complete tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the City Party Committee.
