According to the forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 6 months (from May to October 2025), there is a possibility of 8-10 storms and tropical depressions appearing in the East Sea in the next 6 months, of which about 3-4 storms will affect the mainland. The storm level is equivalent to the average of many years (TBNN).

The average temperature of the whole country is 0.5-1°C higher than the average of many years, especially in June and August. The Northwest has times when it is more than 1°C higher than the average.

Heat waves appear widely in May, lasting until August in the North and Central regions. The intensity is equivalent to the average. From June to July 2025, heat waves decrease in the Central Highlands and the South; continue in the North and Central regions until around August.

Moderate and heavy rains occur in the North, Central, Central Highlands and South, concentrated from May to September. There is a risk of localized flooding and inundation in low-lying areas. Rainfall is approximately average, with the Central Highlands and South being 5-20% higher in May.

Thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind may occur sporadically across the country, especially during seasonal changes or weak cold air.

Regarding flood forecasts and flood flows, the North will see a sharp decrease of 10-50%, with small floods possible in August and September. In many places in the Central and Central Highlands, the flow will be 20-70% lower, with 1-4 small floods possible. The South will have the main flood season from June, with the water level of the Mekong River upstream 0.1-0.3m below the average.

Regarding high tides, strong southwest monsoons cause waves 2-6m high in the East Sea from June to October. There are 5 high tides from April to June, the high tide in October can cause flooding in low-lying areas in Vung Tau (peak 4.1m on October 9). There is a risk of saltwater intrusion deep into the fields during high tides.

Thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind may occur sporadically across the country, especially during seasonal changes or weak cold air. The dangerous weather is forecast to have a major impact on traffic safety, production, electricity, water, and agriculture.
