Free music performance for tourists on old train in Da Lat

On November 27, Mr. Nguyen Vo Minh Chanh, Head of Da Lat - Trai Mat Station, Da Lat City (Lam Dong) said that to celebrate the 130th anniversary of Da Lat's formation and development (1893 - 2023), and at the same time respond to Da Lat's recent recognition as a UNESCO creative city in the field of music , this unit has started to perform a free music performance program to serve tourists when experiencing Da Lat on an old train.

Music performances (violin, guitar) performed by professional artists throughout the journey of the tourist train from Da Lat station to Trai Mat, Linh Phuoc pagoda and vice versa. Each tour experiences the round trip of the old train, about 14 km long on winding roads along the mountainside..., the artists can perform an average of 8 - 10 songs about Da Lat or famous musical works of the world .

Da Lat Railway Station was recognized as a National Cultural and Historical Relic in 2001.

Currently, there are an average of 4 Da Lat - Trai Mat tourist trains every day serving more than 1,000 passengers for sightseeing and experience; mainly tourist groups from Korea, England, France... On weekends, the number of tourists experiencing the old train increases.

Musical performances help visitors have a new experience when exploring Dalat on ancient trains.

In the early days, the music artists performing on the trains received positive feedback from tourists. Most tourists said they felt comfortable and entertained by the sound of violins and guitars.

Ms. Cheong Yoeng Jae, a Korean tourist, shared: "I have been on many tourist trains in many countries, but this is the first time I have seen artists perform music on the train. The melodious, resonant music made our experience of the mountain town of Da Lat more attractive and impressive."

According to Mr. Chanh, the music performance program on the old train is being tested for all routes serving passengers during the day, aiming to bring new experiences to tourists, especially foreigners. By the end of 2023, if receiving positive feedback from tourists, the unit will have the next plan to maintain music performances on the old tourist trains.
