This event marks an important step forward in project implementation in Soc Trang and completes the overall picture for the 2025 Summer-Autumn crop in the entire Mekong Delta region.
More than 100 farmers attended the workshop with great enthusiasm when they witnessed the demonstration of cluster sowing technology combined with fertilization technique. This is one of the key technical solutions of the project, demonstrating the methodical strategy that Binh Dien Company pioneered in implementing as the host unit of the Central Agricultural Extension project: "Building a model of rice cultivation to reduce emissions to serve the sustainable development of the rice export material area of the Mekong Delta".
From Soc Trang, looking out at the whole project
The model in Soc Trang has a scale of 50 hectares, among a total of 6 models deployed on an area of up to 300 hectares in five provinces including Tra Vinh , Soc Trang, Kien Giang, Can Tho and Dong Thap. The models are built in key cooperatives with the participation of diligent farmers who are ready to accept new technical advances.
The common goal for all models is to increase profits by at least 15% compared to traditional farming methods; at the same time, reduce input costs such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and labor by at least 15%. In addition, the average yield must reach 6.2 tons/ha or more with rice quality ensuring export standards.

Synchronized solution - Key to success
The project has contributed to reducing the amount of seeds; creating smart nutrition with farmers being supported by the project with 50% of fertilizer costs and being provided with specialized products of Binh Dien such as Dau Trau TE A1, Dau Trau TE A2 and Dau Trau Organic to nourish good roots. And especially the application of circular agriculture when the entire model area uses straw rollers combined with treating stubble with biological products contributes to eliminating the burning of straw that pollutes the environment, while returning nutrients to the soil and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, all models are equipped with MRV emissions measurement systems to closely monitor emission reduction efficiency. This is a pioneering step to quantify real-world results for future carbon credit commercialization purposes.
Not only production, but also connection and dissemination
The project also facilitates multi-stakeholder linkages between organizations and businesses to build sustainable value chains. The entire region is expected to build at least three production-consumption linkage models between cooperatives and businesses to ensure stable output for at least 60% of the project's rice output.
With the final model in Soc Trang officially sowing successfully, the entire plan to implement the 2025 Summer-Autumn crop project in the Mekong Delta has been successfully completed. Through these practical and drastic actions, Binh Dien Fertilizer Company and its partners have contributed to realizing the project to develop one million hectares of high-quality rice with low emissions in a sustainable direction.
This is an important turning point opening up a future for Vietnam's rice industry to become more economically efficient, more environmentally friendly and more responsible in the face of climate change.
