Vietnam Development Bank: Patriotic emulation - Driving force for sustainable development

(Chinhphu.vn) - With the spirit of "Emulation is patriotism", the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2025 of the Vietnam Development Bank is an important milestone summarizing the 5-year journey, honoring typical advanced examples, and continuing to expand the emulation movement in the new period.

Milestones affirming development steps

On the afternoon of October 17, Vietnam Development Bank (VDB) organized the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2025 with the participation of 17 collectives, 50 departments, 138 outstanding individual delegates, including 5 examples of "good people, good deeds" representing thousands of VDB officers and employees nationwide - the beautiful flowers in the patriotic emulation movement.

In his opening speech, VDB General Director Dao Quang Truong emphasized that the past 5 years have been a period of many difficulties and challenges in the process of restructuring and consolidating the system. However, in the midst of hardship, the spirit of patriotic emulation has become the driving force for the emergence of many outstanding, creative, daring collectives and individuals, contributing to the excellent completion of assigned political tasks.

Mr. Truong affirmed: "Faced with new opportunities and challenges, all VDB staff and employees need to continue to promote internal strength, solidarity and creativity to successfully implement the goals of the Resolution of the VDB Party Congress."

According to him, the results of the recent emulation movement further demonstrate the correctness of President Ho Chi Minh 's teaching: "If we work together to promote patriotic emulation, any difficulty can be overcome and any task can be completed."

This congress is identified as an important milestone to evaluate the emulation movement results of the entire system, and at the same time set out new directions and tasks in emulation and reward work for the period 2025 - 2030.

In addition, the congress also summarized the emulation and reward work for 5 years (2020 - 2025), pointed out outstanding results, shortcomings, limitations and solutions to overcome them, continuing to arouse the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and striving to complete assigned tasks well.

Spread the emulation movement

Presenting the report at the Congress, Mr. Ngo Van Tuan - Head of VDB's Organization and Personnel Department said that emulation movements in the whole system are always launched regularly, practically, closely following the key political tasks and associated with emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Finance and other agencies.

Over the past 5 years, the VDB Party Committee has issued many resolutions, programs, and specific work plans, directing the completion of the restructuring goals for the 2019-2021 period, including streamlining the organizational structure, reducing staff, perfecting the legal framework for VDB's operations, issuing synchronous internal governance regulations and information technology modernization plans.

Along with that, VDB has promoted the implementation of new lending activities according to Decree 78/2023/ND-CP, actively recovered and handled bad debts, effectively managed capital and liquidity, contributing to consolidating a healthy and stable financial foundation.

According to Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, the achievements are the crystallization of the close leadership and direction of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, General Director Board and Emulation and Reward Council, and at the same time the result of strictly implementing the Party and State's policies on emulation and reward work and Ho Chi Minh's thought on patriotic emulation.

At the congress, delegates listened to many typical presentations such as: "Proactive - Discipline - Efficiency" - the driving force to help Transaction Office I excellently complete its annual tasks; "Emulation and rewards - the driving force to complete political tasks at Transaction Office II". "Increasing investment credit capital in the period 2020 - 2024 at Kien Giang Branch". "Emulation and rewards contribute to improving the efficiency of investment credit activities at the Investment Credit Department."

These presentations not only share practical experiences but also demonstrate the spirit of innovation and creativity, contributing to replicating good models and effective practices throughout the system.

After a period of urgent and responsible work, the 4th Vietnam Development Bank Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2025 was a great success. The Congress unanimously assessed that the emulation movement and reward work over the past 5 years have developed more and more practically, effectively, and widely, contributing to creating a vibrant emulation atmosphere throughout the industry.

VDB's patriotic emulation movements are increasingly going into depth, arousing a sense of responsibility, dedication, solidarity and creativity, contributing to the excellent completion of the goals and tasks of the 2020 - 2025 period, creating a solid premise for the new development period of 2025 - 2030.
