Binh Thuan reaps bumper harvest in National Tourism Year 2023

On the evening of December 27, in Phan Thiet city ( Binh Thuan province), the closing ceremony of the 2023 National Tourism Year " Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" took place. In 2024, Dien Bien province was awarded the hosting title.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in 2023, Vietnam will welcome more than 12.5 million international visitors and 108 million domestic visitors, with total revenue from tourists estimated at 672 trillion VND.

Particularly for Binh Thuan province, the tourism industry has made good use of the opportunities and opportunities brought by the National Tourism Year. It has strongly promoted tourism activities in the province, resulting in a huge growth in the number of visitors and tourism revenue.

The province welcomed nearly 8.5 million tourists with total revenue reaching over VND22 trillion (nearly double that of 2022). This is also the first time the province has entered the list of 9 provinces and cities nationwide with tourism revenue of over VND10 trillion.

Binh Thuan province with its long coastline attracts a large number of tourists to come and relax. Two newly opened highways create a new momentum to attract tourists.

"It can be affirmed that the above results have a great contribution from the successful organization of the National Tourism Year - Binh Thuan 2023, at the same time bringing high efficiency in attracting investment, developing tourism products and promoting activities to promote the image, country and people of Vietnam," said Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong.

At the 2023 World Travel Awards - Asia and Oceania region, Vietnam tourism received 54 tourism awards, continuing to affirm the brand, role and position of Vietnam tourism on the world tourism map.

The closing ceremony took place solemnly with the participation of singer My Tam and famous artists.

Another aspect, through the events and activities of the National Tourism Year 2023, has raised awareness among all levels, sectors and the entire population about the role of tourism as a bright spot in economic recovery.

At the closing ceremony, Binh Thuan province also presented the symbolic flag to Dien Bien province to host the National Tourism Year 2024.
