On November 12, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai Tung - Deputy Chief of Office of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee signed a document conveying the direction of Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh to the Department of Education and Training and Ham Thuan Nam District People's Committee regarding the case of a 7th grade female student being beaten by a group and hospitalized. According to this document, Vice Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh assigned the Department of Education and Training of the province and Ham Thuan Nam District People's Committee to urgently check the contents reflecting "a 7th grade female student being hospitalized due to school violence", on that basis, strictly handle according to regulations and report to the Provincial People's Committee before November 15, 2024.
Previously, a clip appeared on social media showing a female student being beaten repeatedly by her female classmates. Through investigation, it was found that the girl beaten in the clip was NLTM (born in 2012), a 7th grade student at Thuan Nam Secondary School, Thuan Nam town, Ham Thuan Nam district. After the incident, M. was taken by her mother to the commune police station to report that she was beaten by a group of female students from the same school and the clip was filmed at the Tan Lap lake dam area, in Tan Lap commune, Ham Thuan Nam district.
According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Ham Thuan Nam district, the initial cause came from the fact that M. borrowed and lost NTMH's helmet. Later, M. bought a new helmet to return to H. but it was not the same color as the old helmet, so H. did not accept it, leading to a conflict. While playing with a group of friends at Tan Lap lake, the two continued to argue, leading to a fight. H.'s group of 4 friends beat M. One of them used his phone to record the incident.
After the incident, the family took M. for a health check and hospitalized him at Ham Thuan Nam Medical Center. M. is currently being treated at Binh Thuan General Hospital. After receiving the report, Tan Lap Commune Police worked with M. and verified the incident. Tan Lap Commune Police and the school invited the parents of the students involved to work. The school has established a Disciplinary Council and will hold a meeting to consider and handle disciplinary action against the students involved on the afternoon of November 14, 2024.
Also on November 12, Mr. Luong Van Ha - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training and Ms. Mai Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Thuan Nam district went to Binh Thuan General Hospital to visit and encourage the female student who was beaten by a group of friends.
