Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard receives 2 modern patrol boats

On April 28, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a handover ceremony of two CN-09 search and rescue patrol boats and 10 high-speed canoes to the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard.

The two CN-09 ships have the registration numbers BP14-19-01 and BP14-19-02.

CN-09 can withstand level 7 and 8 winds and waves; maximum speed of 20 nautical miles/hour, running continuously for 24 hours. Maximum operating time is 10 days at speed of 9 - 10 nautical miles/hour, maximum number of people rescued is 25 people. The tugboat can tug fishing boats with displacement of less than 3,000 tons.

CN-09 is the most modern ship that the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard has been equipped with up to now.

Ho Chi Minh City's investment in building new ships and equipping border guards is very important, contributing to improving the effectiveness of management, protecting sovereignty, security of the city's sea borders and ports; at the same time, enhancing combat readiness and patrolling, controlling, preventing and mitigating natural disasters; carrying out rescue, and being ready to support and help fishermen working at sea when incidents occur.
