Under the new regulations, couples have the right to decide when to have children, the number of children and the spacing between births based on age, health status, education, work, income and child-rearing ability of each individual and couple on the basis of equality.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Health , in recent years, the national birth rate has decreased sharply, from 2.1 children/woman in 2021 to 1.91 children/woman in 2024. Dong Nai is one of 21 provinces and cities with low birth rates. Prolonged low birth rates will leave many consequences such as: rapid population aging, labor shortage, affecting social security.
In order to maintain a stable replacement level of fertility, recently, many localities across the country have implemented many birth promotion policies, including giving money to women who give birth to 2 children before the age of 35.
