Regarding the issue of handling commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and fake goods in the e-commerce environment, the Minister of Industry and Trade assessed that control and handling are facing many difficulties compared to the traditional business environment. Meanwhile, current regulations do not have sanctions for new sales and advertising models, such as livestream or some other forms. In addition, sanctions are not really strong enough. To overcome this, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien said that in the coming time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will urgently complete the draft Law on E-commerce to submit to the National Assembly and the Government.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposed to clarify the responsibilities of ministries, branches, localities, and functional agencies with e-commerce models and livestream sales entities. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen decentralization and delegation of authority to localities in managing e-commerce transactions. The Ministry of Industry and Trade continues to coordinate with inter-sectoral units in inspecting and handling violating items; Actively and proactively review and handle the abuse of livestream and e-commerce application websites to trade in counterfeit, fake, and poor-quality goods.
