The drill contents include: Dissemination of theory on fire prevention and fighting; training in practical skills of fire fighting measures; practicing the operation of fire handling mechanisms; live drills in the specialized parking area and the guest house of the Command; summarizing, evaluating and drawing comprehensive experiences.
Within the framework of the live-fire exercise, the Coast Guard Command coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Hanoi City Police to synchronously deploy firefighting and rescue plans in two key areas: the garage and the guest house. The first hypothetical scenario simulated a fire that broke out in the garage due to an electrical short circuit from a parked car, causing the fire to spread to an area with 30 other cars. As soon as the fire was detected, the regular fire prevention and fighting force of the Command quickly deployed an on-site firefighting plan; at the same time, coordinated with specialized forces in the area to use modern specialized equipment to control and extinguish the fire, rescuing people and vehicles in the fastest time. The second hypothetical scenario was a fire caused by an electrical short circuit from the fan of Room 203 of the Vietnam Coast Guard Guest House. While the fire brigade was handling the situation, an explosion suddenly occurred on the 6th floor due to a gas leak at high temperature, trapping a victim. In difficult access conditions, the forces organized a rescue using a system of ladder trucks, boom trucks, smoke extraction equipment, pulleys, inclined rope bridges, etc. to rescue the victims and extinguish the fire. Both situations were handled flexibly, following technical procedures, demonstrating close and smooth coordination between the forces, especially in the command, operation and mobilization of vehicles.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Major General Le Dinh Cuong - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Vietnam Coast Guard highly appreciated the careful preparation, strict and serious organization and high sense of responsibility of the participating forces so that the exercise successfully completed the set objectives, ensuring absolute safety of people and vehicles, contributing to improving the effectiveness of combat readiness training in the event of fire and explosion disasters of the Coast Guard Command.
