Accordingly, on the evening of July 20, in Chanh Hung ward and Cu Chi, Tan An Hoi and Phu Hoa Dong communes ( Ho Chi Minh City), a sudden storm occurred, causing the collapse and roofing of 19 houses; causing damage to crops and breaking many trees on the roads.

Immediately after the storm, the Ho Chi Minh City Command directed units to mobilize nearly 100 officers and soldiers to promptly help people reinforce roofs, move belongings to safety, and initially overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.

Also after the natural disaster, on the afternoon of July 20, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Trung, Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command, directly went to the scene to direct officers and soldiers to help people overcome the consequences of the natural disaster; visited, gave gifts, and encouraged affected households.

The Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh City Command directed units to review key areas at risk of natural disasters, promptly update and adjust response plans, avoid subjective and passive mentality; at the same time, monitor and grasp the weather situation, proactively coordinate closely with functional forces and local Party committees and authorities to be ready to respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
