Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism reviews work in the first 6 months of the year and deploys tasks for the last 6 months of the year

On the morning of July 17, comrade Nguyen Van Hung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) chaired an online conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

The conference was held directly at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and online to 34 provinces and centrally-run cities.

In the first 6 months of 2025, major issues with industry orientations were identified with specific implementation roadmaps, and directed to be implemented in the right direction, in accordance with the actual situation. The total number of international visitors in the first 6 months of 2025 reached more than 10.6 million, an increase of 20.7% over the same period, with total revenue from tourists estimated at about 518,000 billion VND. Activities to preserve and promote cultural heritage were effectively implemented; press, communication and publishing work had many positive changes; the fight against bad and toxic information was carried out regularly, continuously and effectively. The mass physical education and sports movement developed strongly; high-performance sports had a positive development; the cultural industry and entertainment industry showed positive signs of development with many unique and creative cultural products and activities. Foreign cultural work had many bright spots and changes.

In Tuyen Quang, the Department of Culture has actively consulted on reviewing mechanisms and policies related to the sector's fields to adjust and supplement according to the 2-level local government model; the implementation of basic fields has reached over 50% of the annual plan. The province has successfully organized cultural, sports and tourism events, creating a strong impression in the hearts of the people and tourists. The management, preservation and promotion of historical and traditional cultural values have been strengthened; cultural institutions at the grassroots level continue to receive attention and investment for development...

In the last 6 months of 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will focus on directing the development of projects to be submitted to the Government and the Prime Minister for assignment in 2025; develop draft laws, decrees, and circulars for promulgation and submission to competent authorities for promulgation according to the 2025 law-making program; focus on guiding and implementing the decentralization and assignment of authority in the sector's fields when organizing 2-level local governments; continue to implement tasks of developing science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and administrative reform.
