Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club lost 0-2 to host Wuhan Jiangda in the semi-finals of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's Championship held on May 21 in Wuhan (China).

Although they stopped at the semi-finals, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi and her team helped Vietnamese women's football in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular have a historic journey in the tournament organized for the first time by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Not only that, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club also contributed significantly to helping Vietnam rise to 5th place with 70,393 points, in the Asian women's club football rankings just announced by AFC.

The rankings also changed after the tournament, Melbourne City lost in the final of the AFC Champions League Women's 2024-2025, but Australia still leads the rankings with 97,662 points. The next two positions are Korea (75,852 points) and Japan (74,800 points).

Meanwhile, Wuhan Jiangda Club's 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's Championship achievement helped Chinese women's football finish fourth with 74,583 points.

Thailand and the Philippines ranked only 9th and 10th with 37.2 points and 33.8 points respectively.

College of Asian Scholars (Thailand) was eliminated from the group stage of the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's Club with 1 point after 3 matches, ranking last in Group B. Meanwhile, Kaya-Iloilo (Philippines) ranked second to last in Group B with 2 points.

The Asian Women's Club Football Rankings are a combination of club performance (70%, based on results in the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League Women's Championship) and national team performance (30%, as of March 2025, based on the FIFA Women's National Team Rankings).

With good achievements in the continent and being the current national women's champion, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will continue to represent Vietnam in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Women.
